Renewal Of Vows:
Renewing your vows with your loved one is a very special ceremony that can be tailored to your exact wishes. Be it a recreation of your original ceremony or one that reflects your current views of life, renewing your vows with your loved one can be as intimate or as large as you wish.

Commitment Ceremony:
As of July 22, 2007, gays, lesbians and unmarried seniors (one of whom is at least 62) can file as domestic partnerships and have rights concerning their partner. A commitment ceremony is for anyone and everyone who wishes to honor their special commitment and relationship with their partner. Any ceremony is suitable and appropriate and we will work with you to ensure that your ceremony truly reflects your commitment to each other.

Other Ceremonies of Life:
From birth to death, we celebrate and commemorate, for our selves and those that we love, the special moments in the journey that we call life. The birth of a baby is a wonderful opportunity for a blessing or naming ceremony. Death also provides a time to reflect and honor the passing of a loved one at a wake or funeral. Please contact us to discuss any of life's events that you would like us to officiate at and we will work with you to create the perfect ceremony for that occasion.

Additional ideas that can be incorporated:
The wedding ceremony has typically been an event that is laced with symbolism. Below are a few examples of rituals that you can add to your special day.

Sand Ceremony
A sand ceremony is one of the most illustrative examples of the blending of a couple. If you have children, then including them in this ceremony is a very special way of making them feel that they are a part of that extraordinary day. Each will take their individual containers filled with colored sand (or sand taken from a place that is special to you) and will pour the sand into a single container which can serve as a very visual reminder of your special day.

Family Vows:
If you are coming into a marriage with children from a previous relationship, including the children in the ceremony conveys to them, and to all that are in attendance, that your marriage is more than just the bonding of husband and wife. It is the creation of a family, and commitments to and from each member of the family as part of a wedding ceremony is a very special and unique opportunity to convey those commitments to each other.

Unity Candle:
The wedding unity candles at your wedding ceremony will symbolically show this union of two separate and unique individuals. The single tapered candles which you and your partner use to light the single unity candle symbolize what each of you is bringing to your marriage. It is a meaningful and memorable segment of the wedding ceremony.
Unity Candles
This is a ceremony not only about what you as individuals are bringing to the union but it is about you and your mate being joined together and the life you will have ahead in a partnership. The candle then symbolizes the unity of your marriage.
As a symbol of the ongoing commitment to their wedding vows, couples re-light their unity candles on their anniversaries. The significance of the wedding unity candles goes beyond just an attractive accessory, this is a beautiful ceremony that represents so much more.

Special Readings:
Many couples want their wedding ceremony to provide strong metaphors for love and commitment as part of their preparation for making the wedding vows that will be the heart of their marriage. Metaphors are incredibly powerful and remind us, each time we hear them, of the emotion behind them. If you use a metaphor in your wedding ceremony, when you hear it later on in a different context, it will deepen your connection to one another and to your commitment. The readings that you choose to celebrate your love for one another and that support your wedding vows do matter. Religious, classical, modern, or written by you for each other... words have power! We can help you in selecting the words and readings for your wedding that are just right for you.
